I create each piece of natural Quartz jewelry by collecting my own beach stones on the Olympic Peninsula, which can vary in opacity from clear to snowy. I take the Quartz home where I cut and polish it. After polishing the Quartz, I craft a design for a unique piece of jewelry. Then begins the metalsmithing process of hand sawing, soldering, texturing, stone setting and more. It's a time intensive process to ensure that your Quartz jewelry is high quality and long-lasting.
Natural Quartz is a crystalline mineral made of silica, and has a hardness of 7 - 7.5 on the Mohs scale, making it a very durable semi-precious gemstone for jewelry. Quartz can be found in an array of colors and is found all over the world.
