Handmade in the Pacific Northwest
Woodland Metalsmith was founded in 2018 in Quilcene, Washington, where Kahlia the jewelry designer lives and works in her home studio using natural beach gems and solid metals to create one of a kind pieces. Kahlia was born and raised in the PNW, having a deep connection with the surrounding mountains and rivers through back packing, rock hounding and exploring the region.
As a kid, rockhounding was a hobby for Kahlia that later turned into part of her work. Using her personally sourced stones for jewelry gives her the ability and freedom to design shapes and sizes that she normally wouldn't be able to purchase online. Cutting stones with a tile saw and then shaping them on grinding and polishing wheels is a huge part of the jewelry making and crystal decor process.
Metalsmithing
Metalsmithing involves hand sawing, soldering, shaping, sanding and texturing to create finished jewelry. The artist uses solid metals like pure copper and 925 sterling silver for the soldered components, 304 stainless steel for chains and titanium for earring hooks. Each component is intentionally hand crafted for easy use and versatility. The metals are purchased from reputable sources to ensure the highest quality for customers so you never have to worry about unexpected skin irritation or discoloring.
