This beautiful Washington State Polka Dot Jasper necklace in copper was designed for a man or woman who enjoys rustic style. Compliment this necklace with an earth tone outfit or gift it to someone who loves gemstone jewelry.
This necklace was completely handcrafted by me (Kahlia) in Washington State from my school bus work studio. It was hand sawed out of raw sheet metal and soldered together using metalsmithing techniques. I collected the Polka Dot Jasper from a beach on the Olympic Peninsula and then cut and polished it for this pendant.
Jasper is an opaque variety of Chalcedony, a type of micro-crystalline Quartz mixed with other minerals, and has a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, making it a very durable gemstone. Jasper can be found in an array of colors and patterns, making each one unique. It's found in areas with volcanic activity so it is fairly abundant in Washington State. Jasper is associated with the Earth element, bringing calmness and grounding to the wearer, and is the perfect secondary birthstone for the month of March and the Zodiac sign Aries.
