Red Moss Agate Focal Pendant Necklace

This unique red Moss Agate focal pendant necklace is designed for someone with a simple style and a love for gems. The colors of red and yellow in this piece are vibrant with many patterns and textures of opaque and translucent inclusions. The adjustable hypoallergenic vegan necklace makes it easy to take on and off.

This necklace was completely handcrafted by me (Kahlia) in Washington State from my school bus work studio. I collected the Agate from a beach on the Olympic Peninsula and cut and polished it myself. I would identify this piece as Moss Agate, however the inclusions and clear pockets indicate that it may also be Garden Quartz, making this a very special piece.

Agate is a variety of Chalcedony, a type of micro-crystalline Quartz, and has a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, making it a very durable gemstone. Agate can be found in an array of colors and patterns of bands and orbs, making each one unique. It's found in areas with volcanic activity so it is fairly abundant in Washington State. Agate is associated with the Earth element, bringing emotional stability and confidence to the wearer, and is the perfect secondary birthstone for the month of May.
