Rhyolite is a rock made up of Quartz, Feldspar and other minerals and has a hardness of about 6 - 7 on the Mohs scale. It is formed when magma cools quickly, usually leaving the crystals too small to see under a microscope. It can form in layers and orbs and is found in an array of colors.
